Our Mission
Integrity of El Camino Real's mission is to be the witness of the lesbigay community in the Episcopal Diocese or El Camino Real and of the Episcopal Church's within the Diocese. We engage in a ministry of worship, education, advocacy, fellowship, and service.
For 25 years, since it's founding by Dr. Louie Crew in rural Georgia, Integrity has been the leading grassroots voice for the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and trangendered persons in the Episcopal Church. In 1976, the General Convention of the Episcopal Church said, "homosexual persons are entitled to equal protection of the laws with all other citizens," and "homosexual persons are children of God who have a full and equal claim with all other persons upon the love, acceptance, and pastoral concern and care of the Church."
As the Episcopal Church has struggled to live into these bold statements, Integrity has prayed and worked for progress on both the national and local levels. Our ministry will continue until all lesbian and gay citizens have "equal protection " and all lesbian and gay Episcopalians indeed have a ";full and equal claim.
